Health Care

The Wharton Health Care Management Program is one of the largest and most respected health care management programs in the country, building on the established strength of Wharton’s management core.  A Wharton health care major is well-qualified to respond to the many critical problems now faced by hospitals, government agencies, group practices, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies, insurance and managed care organizations, consulting and financial services firms, and the rapidly-evolving service sector.

Wharton MBA students regularly intern at DaVita, Genentech, Pfizer, Amgen, Cigna, and Medtronic, among other industry leaders. Students also go into impactful roles in healthcare startups like Oscar, Wellthie, Flatiron and many more.

Meet the Health Care Club

The Healthcare Club has over 150 student members, both in the Healthcare Management Program and non-healthcare majors who are interested in the field. They organize Lunch and Learn educational events, a Healthcare speaker series, and other networking opportunities. Companies can also request that the club include company information in its weekly newsletters.

Engage with other Health-Related Clubs

Additional networking opportunities are provided by niche clubs for different health care sectors, including the Penn Biotech Club and the new Wharton Digital Health Club.

Participate in the Wharton Health Care Business Conference

The annual Wharton Health Care Business Conference is a leading forum for industry professionals, academics, and students – attracting over 600 participants every year — and a great networking opportunity.

Host Health Care Treks

Each year our students organize corporate visits to companies of interest. Treks are a great opportunity to share your story and network.
