Every year, Wharton MBA graduates pursue careers in retail, working in strategy, marketing, merchandising, business development, operations/supply chain, finance, and analytics. Students are interested in various sectors of the retail industry including apparel/footwear, fashion/luxury, beauty, mass merchandisers, department stores, and e-commerce. Wharton MBAs have interned at a broad range of retailers including Estee Lauder, Nike, H-E-B, Rent the Runway, Tory Burch, Wayfair, Walmart, Allbirds, Curology, HelloFresh, Il Makiage, ThredUp, and Savage X Fenty among many others.
Wharton is the only Ivy League school to offer a concentration in retail – through the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center – in which retail theory and practice are integrated into Wharton’s business curriculum.
Meet the Wharton Graduate Retail Club
The Retail Club invites interested companies to network with their members through Lunch and Learns, Company HQ Treks, an annual Retail Conference, and other club-sponsored events.
Participate in the Wharton Retail Conference
The Retail Conference is a day of keynote speakers and panels held on a variety of topics concerning the retail industry and provides excellent networking opportunities for students and employers.
Host Retail Treks
Each year, our students organize corporate visits to New York City, the West coast and Europe. Treks are a great opportunity to share your story and network.
